IGLA International Championships
Swimmers incur significant expenses traveling to IGLA International Championships every year. For many the cost is simply prohibitive. QUAC raises money each year to help defray the costs of participating in IGLA championships. Ideally, the only thing a swimmer would need in order to participate would be the desire to go.
This year is an important year for QUAC and IGLA. This year's competition is in Washington D.C. IGLA 2009 and 2010 will both be out of the country and, consquently, much more expensive to attend. This is one of the reasons QUAC is endeavoring to get as many team members to this year's competition as is humanly possible.
How much QUAC is able to contribute to expenses associated with IGLA championships depends on how much money is raised throughout the year. The board makes that information available to the team each year as soon as the budget is solidified.
In order for swimmers to be eligible for assistence from QUAC three requirements must be met.
- They must be a paid member of QUAC.
- They must compete in at least one event or coach during the competition.
- They must have volunteered or be willing to volunteer their time to QUAC events outside
swim practice during the same calendar year as the championship they wish to attend.
Possible opportunites are:
- Pride Festival
- Ski and Swim
- Aqua Aid
- Serve on a planning committee
