If you are learning to swim with QUAC and swimming in Lane 1, your pool fees are covered but you need to register here.

​All QUAC swim practices are held at Fairmont Aquatic Center which is tucked away inside the picturesque Fairmont Park in the heart of Salt Lake City’s historic Sugarhouse district. Practices are subject to pool availability. Check the QUAC CALENDAR for official practices. Visitors are always welcome!

The lanes and are organized by ability level. Introduce yourself to a coach on deck and they will help you find the lane that suits you.  For the first 30 days QUAC & USMS membership is not required (please submit this form).  After this period a membership will be required. 

Fear of the water? Want to learn to swim? Beginning swimmer?

QUAC has an Adult Learn to Swim Program.  You don't need much, just a swimsuit, towel and googles.  Goggles can be purchased at the pool.  Register here as an Adult Learn to Swim Swimmer

​Lane 8 is for new swimmers.  You learn the five Red Cross basic water competencies:
  1. Step or jump into the water over your head.
  2. Return to the surface and float or tread water for one minute.
  3. Turn around in a full circle and find an exit.
  4. Swim 25 yards to the exit.
  5. Exit from the pool without using the ladder.
As well as the basics of breathing, freestyle and backstroke. 

​More advanced swimmer?
​

Lanes 6-7 are faster.  You learn and focus on techniques for all swimming strokes as well as flip turns and dive starts.

Lanes 4-5 are master-level lanes with a workout of approximately 3000 yards per hour.
